Why check a PuppyReports™ Card first

A cute photo does not tell you how a puppy was raised. The Card puts the record in one place — documentation on file, health checklist, contracts, DNA and pedigree, Family Experiences, and public Concern Flags with their original sources — so you can compare programs honestly. Browse the breeder directory or the rescue & shelter directory, or search any program by name.

Frequently asked questions

Does PuppyReports sell puppies?

No. Breeders and rescues place their own listings. PuppyReports shows each program's PuppyReports™ Card so you can check documentation, Family Experiences and public Concern Flags before you contact them.

How do I check a breeder before I buy a puppy?

Open the program's PuppyReports™ Card. It shows what documentation is on file (health testing, contracts, DNA, pedigree), Family Experiences from past buyers, and any public Concern Flags with their source — government records, news reports, watchdog publications or first-hand reports.

What does "unclaimed" mean?

An unclaimed Card is built from public information and has not been claimed by the program yet. Claimed means the program has taken ownership of its Card and can add documentation. Neither is an endorsement.

Can I find puppies by state or breed?

Yes. Browse puppies for sale by state below, then by breed within each state, or start from any breed page.

Are rescues and shelters listed too?

Yes. The rescue & shelter directory lists 36,519 rescues and shelters by state, each with its own PuppyReports™ Card.
