Every dog deserves stability, safety, and a real second chance.

Canine Traceback™ adds an ethical clarity layer by checking whether a microchip has been voluntarily enrolled by a participating breeder inside PuppyReports™ — so return-to-breeder and lifetime commitments can be considered first.

If a match is found, the breeder-of-origin is notified first, giving them the opportunity to assist in the most ethical next step, including:

  • honoring lifetime commitments

  • supporting return-to-breeder agreements

  • coordinating safe rehoming

  • assisting with reunification if a dog is lost

Canine Traceback™ is not an ownership registry.
It does not track current owners or replace official microchip registries, which maintain ownership and contact records.


Canine Traceback™ supports ethical decision-making when a breeder-of-origin exists. Many ethical breeders prefer dogs to return to them, or to help coordinate responsible placement if circumstances change.
