Family Experience Reviews

Heart-based recommendations from real families. Not star ratings — real, documented experiences that help you find the right dog for your home.

Happy dogs
Real Families. Real Experiences. Real Trust.
Family Experience Reviews are the heart of PuppyReports™ — documented accounts from families who have actually purchased or adopted from a breeder, rescue, or shelter.

What Are Family Experience Reviews?

Family Experience Reviews are structured, documented accounts submitted by families who have purchased a puppy from a breeder or adopted from a rescue or shelter listed on PuppyReports™. Unlike traditional star ratings found on other platforms, our reviews capture the complete picture of the family's experience.

Each review covers key areas including breeder communication before and after purchase, the health of the puppy upon arrival, contract terms and follow-through, support provided during the transition period, and the overall experience from first contact through the lifetime of the dog.

Reviews are displayed directly on the breeder's or rescue's PuppyReports™ Card, providing future families with authentic, first-hand insights to help guide their decision.

Why Family Reviews Matter

Traditional review platforms fail the canine industry. PuppyReports™ is different.

Heart-Based, Not Star-Based

We use a heart-based recommendation system because the relationship between a family and their breeder cannot be reduced to a number. A heart means "I would recommend this program to another family." That carries real weight.

Documentation Required

Supporting documentation is always required — a receipt, contract, or proof of purchase. Dog photos are optional but encouraged. This is not an anonymous review platform. Every review is tied to a real family, a real transaction, and real documentation.

Trust Built Through Documentation

Breeders and rescues build trust by participating in their PuppyReports™ Card — uploading health records, contracts, and documentation that demonstrates their standards. Gold and Platinum members can use Integrity Tools™ to let their documentation speak for itself.

Patterns, Not Opinions

One review is a data point. Multiple reviews reveal patterns. PuppyReports™ aggregates review data to help families identify consistent themes — positive or negative — across a breeder's history.

Protects Both Sides

Family Reviews protect families by giving them access to real experiences. They also protect ethical breeders by creating a documented record of their excellence. Good breeders benefit the most from transparent reviews.

Part of the PuppyReports™ Card

Reviews are integrated into the comprehensive PuppyReports™ Card alongside membership status, documents, health records, and flag indicators. This gives families a complete, multi-dimensional view of every program.

What Family Reviews Are NOT

To maintain integrity, it is important to understand what Family Experience Reviews are not designed for:

X
Not a place for anonymous attacks.

All reviews require real identity information. Anonymous reviews are not accepted. If you have a concern but do not want to be identified, consider submitting a flag through Puppy Mill Watch™ instead.

X
Not for reporting abuse or illegal activity.

If you suspect animal abuse, cruelty, or illegal activity, contact your local animal control or law enforcement immediately. PuppyReports™ is not a substitute for legal reporting channels.

X
Not an opinion forum.

Reviews must be based on a real, documented transaction with the breeder or rescue. You must have actually purchased or adopted a dog from the program you are reviewing.

X
Not a guarantee of quality.

Reviews are provided as-is from confirmed families. PuppyReports™ does not endorse or guarantee any breeder, rescue, or shelter. Reviews are one part of the comprehensive PuppyReports™ Card.

What You Need to Submit a Review

To ensure the integrity of every review on PuppyReports™, we ask families to provide the following:

Your identity is confirmed but can be displayed publicly with first name and last initial only.

The program must be listed in the PuppyReports™ database.

3

4

5
Supporting Documentation (Required)
