About English Cocker Spaniel Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The English Cocker Spaniel, originating in England, is a medium sized sporting breed in the AKC Sporting Group, historically developed to flush and retrieve woodcock and other game birds in dense cover. Standing 15-17 inches tall and weighing 26-34 pounds, they carry a silky, medium length coat with feathering on the ears, chest, legs, and belly that requires brushing several times a week plus regular trimming, ear cleaning, and nail care. Merry, affectionate, and eager to please, they thrive with active families who can provide at least an hour of daily exercise, training, and close companionship. They generally do well with children and other pets.
