About Siberian Husky Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Siberian Husky is a medium size Working Group sled dog from Siberia, developed by the Chukchi people for endurance and teamwork in harsh Arctic conditions; today they are friendly, outgoing, and independent companions with very high energy who thrive on vigorous daily exercise, mental challenges, and secure fencing due to a strong prey drive and escape tendencies. Athletic and agile with a thick double coat, erect ears, and a plume tail, they typically stand about 20-24 inches and weigh 35-60 pounds; their coat comes in many colors and they may have blue, brown, or mixed eye colors. Grooming is moderate but consistent, expect heavy seasonal shedding (“blowing coat”), with weekly brushing that may need to be daily during sheds; baths are occasional and drooling is minimal. They are not hypoallergenic and suit active homes. Common health concerns include hip dysplasia, hereditary eye issues (such as cataracts), low thyroid, and zinc related skin problems, so responsible breeders often screen hips and eyes.
