About Rottweiler Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The Rottweiler, a large Working Group breed from Germany developed to drive cattle and guard property, is confident, loyal, and protective yet calm and affectionate with family when well socialized and trained. Strong and muscular with a broad head and a short, dense black coat with rust markings, males typically stand about 24-27 inches and 95-135 pounds, females 22-25 inches and 80-100 pounds. This high‑energy, intelligent dog needs daily vigorous exercise, clear training, and mental engagement to thrive. Grooming is straightforward: a short coat that sheds moderately year‑round benefits from weekly brushing, plus routine nail, ear, and dental care; some individuals may drool. Rottweilers are not hypoallergenic and can be prone to hip and elbow problems, heart disease, certain cancers, eye issues, and life‑threatening stomach bloat, so maintaining a healthy weight, using responsible breeders, and scheduling regular veterinary checks are important.

Before You Choose a Rottweiler Puppy
- Can I see health screening documentation for both parents?
- Are the parents registered with the AKC or relevant breed club?
- What is your return policy if the dog cannot remain in my home?
- Can I visit, meet the parents, and see where the puppies are raised?
- Do you provide a written health guarantee and vaccination records?
Screened Rottweiler breeders on PuppyReports have submitted documentation, responded to the platform, and maintain an active PuppyReports™ Card. Research any breeder before you make a commitment.
