About Pomeranian Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The Pomeranian, a Toy Group spitz from the historic Pomerania region of Europe, was bred primarily as a companion and is known for its bold, alert, and lively temperament with high energy for its small size. Typically 6-7 inches tall and 3-7 pounds, it has a foxlike face, erect ears, and a dense double coat with a plumed tail. Grooming is significant: brush several times per week (daily during seasonal sheds), bathe and trim as needed, and prioritize dental care; they shed and are not hypoallergenic, though drooling is minimal. Daily walks, play, and mental enrichment keep them happy, while early training and socialization help manage barking; due to their small, delicate build, they need gentle handling and protection from extreme heat or cold. Common health concerns include dental disease, luxating patellas, tracheal collapse, coat loss (alopecia), and occasional thyroid, heart, or eye issues.

Before You Choose a Pomeranian Puppy
- Can I see health screening documentation for both parents?
- Are the parents registered with the AKC or relevant breed club?
- What is your return policy if the dog cannot remain in my home?
- Can I visit, meet the parents, and see where the puppies are raised?
- Do you provide a written health guarantee and vaccination records?
