About Scottish Terrier Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The Scottish Terrier, originating in the Scottish Highlands, is a small earthdog in the Terrier Group developed to hunt badgers, foxes, and vermin among rocky terrain. Dignified, bold, and fiercely loyal, Scotties are independent thinkers who bond deeply with their families while remaining aloof with strangers. Typically 10 inches tall and 18-22 pounds, they have a compact, muscular build with a hard wiry outer coat and soft undercoat in black, brindle, or wheaten. Grooming requires weekly brushing plus hand stripping or clipping every few months, routine beard cleaning, ear checks, dental care, and nail trims. They need moderate daily exercise and suit families who appreciate a confident, spirited companion.

Before You Choose a Scottish Terrier Puppy
- Can I see health screening documentation for both parents?
- Are the parents registered with the AKC or relevant breed club?
- What is your return policy if the dog cannot remain in my home?
- Can I visit, meet the parents, and see where the puppies are raised?
- Do you provide a written health guarantee and vaccination records?
