About Welsh Terrier Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The Welsh Terrier, originating in Wales, is a small working breed in the Terrier Group developed to hunt fox, badger, and otter across rugged British countryside. Bold, spirited, and intelligent, they are devoted family companions with classic terrier tenacity and a playful sense of humor. Typically 15-15.5 inches tall and 20-22 pounds, they are sturdy and compact with a hard, wiry black and tan coat requiring weekly brushing and hand stripping or clipping every few months to maintain texture. Energetic and curious, they need daily vigorous exercise, mental stimulation, and secure fencing. They suit active families and do best with early socialization and consistent training.
