About Toy Fox Terrier Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The Toy Fox Terrier, developed in the United States as a downsized offshoot of the Smooth Fox Terrier for ratting and companionship, belongs to the Toy Group and typically stands 8.5, 11.5 inches tall and weighs about 4-9 pounds. High energy, playful, and intelligent, they are affectionate with family, bold and alert as small watchdogs, and thrive on training and interactive games. Compact and athletic with erect ears and a short, smooth, mostly white coat with distinct head markings, they shed moderately and need only occasional brushing, minimal bathing, routine nail and dental care, and protection from cold. Daily exercise and mental stimulation are important despite their size. They adapt well to apartment living when their activity needs are met. Health considerations may include patellar luxation, Legg Calvé-Perthes disease, dental issues, and breed associated congenital hypothyroidism with goiter; regular vet care and responsible breeding help manage risks. They are not hypoallergenic and drool very little.
