About Puli Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The Puli, a medium sized Hungarian herding dog in the Herding Group, was bred to drive and guard sheep and is known for its lively, intelligent, and devoted nature, often reserved with strangers but affectionate with family. Compact and agile (about 16-17 inches tall and 25-35 pounds), it sports a distinctive weatherproof, corded coat that needs regular cord separation, thorough bathing with long drying, and routine ear, eye, and nail care; shedding is low to moderate and it is not considered hypoallergenic. With moderate energy, it thrives on daily exercise and mental stimulation, and may be predisposed to hip dysplasia and eye conditions such as PRA and cataracts, with a typical lifespan of 10-15 years.
