About Peruvian Inca Orchid Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Peruvian Inca Orchid, originating in Peru and recognized in the AKC Foundation Stock Service (with the Peruvian Inca Orchid also shown in the Miscellaneous class), is an ancient sighthound type companion and hunter dating back to pre Incan cultures. Elegant and swift, they come in small, medium, and large sizes, with the medium standing roughly 16-20 inches and weighing 18-26 pounds. Found in both hairless and coated varieties, grooming is minimal, though hairless dogs need sunscreen, moisturizer, and warm coats in cold weather. Noble yet affectionate with family, they are reserved with strangers and need daily exercise and sighthound safe fenced space. Health concerns include skin issues, sunburn, missing teeth, patellar luxation, and cold sensitivity.
