About Norfolk Terrier Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Norfolk Terrier, originating in England, is one of the smallest working terriers in the AKC Terrier Group, historically bred to bolt foxes and control rats on East Anglian farms and stables. Distinguished from the Norwich by its drop ears, this compact dog stands 9-10 inches tall and weighs 11-12 pounds, cloaked in a hard, wiry, weather resistant double coat in red, wheaten, black and tan, or grizzle. Grooming is moderate: weekly brushing plus hand stripping two to three times a year preserves coat texture, alongside routine ear checks, dental care, and nail trims. Fearless, affectionate, and spirited yet sociable, Norfolks thrive on 30-45 minutes of daily exercise and adapt beautifully to active families, singles, and homes with other pets.
