About Lhasa Apso Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Lhasa Apso, originating in Tibet, is a small Non Sporting breed developed over a thousand years ago as an interior sentinel in Buddhist monasteries and nobles' homes, alerting residents to intruders. Typically 10-11 inches tall and 12-18 pounds, the Lhasa carries a long, heavy, straight double coat that parts down the back and sweeps the floor when kept in full show length; most pet owners opt for a shorter puppy clip. Grooming is demanding, requiring daily brushing, regular bathing, and attentive ear and eye care. Confident, comical, and fiercely loyal yet aloof with strangers, they need only moderate daily exercise and suit attentive adult households and families with respectful older children.
