About Lancashire Heeler Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Lancashire Heeler, originating in England, is a small herding breed in the AKC Herding Group (fully recognized in 2024) developed to drive cattle and dispatch vermin on Lancashire farms. Compact yet sturdy at 10-12 inches tall and 9-17 pounds, they sport a weather resistant short double coat in black and tan or liver and tan, needing only weekly brushing, routine nail trims, and regular ear and dental care. Alert, clever, affectionate, and mischievous, Heelers bond closely with their people and suit active families, thriving on 45-60 minutes of daily exercise plus training games that challenge their quick minds.
