About Kuvasz Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The Kuvasz, a large Hungarian livestock guardian in the Working Group, was developed to protect flocks and estates and remains an alert, confident, and deeply loyal companion, affectionate with family yet reserved and protective with strangers. Powerful and athletic, it typically weighs 70-115 pounds and wears a thick, weather resistant white double coat. Energy needs are moderate; daily exercise, ample space with secure fencing, and early, consistent socialization and patient, firm training help channel its independent nature. Grooming involves regular brushing several times a week (more during seasonal sheds) to manage moderate shedding and keep the coat clean; this breed is not hypoallergenic. Common health concerns include hip dysplasia and bloat (a life threatening stomach issue), so weight management, responsible breeding, and routine veterinary care are important.

Before You Choose a Kuvasz Puppy
- Can I see health screening documentation for both parents?
- Are the parents registered with the AKC or relevant breed club?
- What is your return policy if the dog cannot remain in my home?
- Can I visit, meet the parents, and see where the puppies are raised?
- Do you provide a written health guarantee and vaccination records?
