About Great Pyredane Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Great Pyredane, a cross between the Great Pyrenees and the Great Dane, is a giant companion not recognized by AKC but registered through designer organizations such as the ACHC and IDCR. Adults stand 27-32 inches and weigh 85-130 pounds, with coat length varying by generation: F1 pups may carry the Pyrenees' thick double coat or the Dane's short smooth coat, while F1B and multigen dogs trend toward moderate length with weekly brushing needed. Calm and watchful from the Pyrenees, affectionate and people oriented from the Dane, they bond deeply with family but can be independent minded. Best suited to experienced owners with space, a secure yard, and time for early socialization.

Parent Breeds

This is a designer cross combining: Great Pyrenees + Great Dane. As a mixed breed cross, individual puppies may inherit traits from either parent breed in varying degrees. Health testing requirements and temperament expectations should be evaluated for both parent breeds.
