About German Sheprador Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The German Sheprador, a cross between the German Shepherd and the Labrador Retriever, is a large working style companion recognized by designer registries including the ACHC and IDCR rather than the AKC. Adults stand 22-26 inches and weigh 65-90 pounds, wearing a dense double coat that varies by generation (F1, F1B, multigen) from short Lab like to longer Shepherd plush, shedding heavily year round. Expect Shepherd loyalty and protective drive paired with Labrador sociability, biddability, and retrieving enthusiasm. Inherits health risks from both parents (see health panel). Best suited to active households with a yard, experienced handlers, and time for daily exercise and training.
Parent Breeds
This is a designer cross combining: German Shepherd + Labrador Retriever. As a mixed breed cross, individual puppies may inherit traits from either parent breed in varying degrees. Health testing requirements and temperament expectations should be evaluated for both parent breeds.
