About Dogo Argentino Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The Dogo Argentino, developed in Argentina in the 1920s by Dr. Antonio Nores Martínez, is a large, powerful working breed created for hunting big game and guarding property and family. Loyal, confident, and affectionate yet naturally protective and sometimes dog selective, it needs an experienced owner, early socialization, consistent training, and plenty of daily exercise. Its short, dense, predominantly white coat sheds moderately with low grooming needs and typically low drooling; the light coat can be sun sensitive, so limit harsh sun and check skin and ears regularly. Common health considerations include congenital deafness, hip and elbow dysplasia, and skin issues; it is not hypoallergenic, and adults are often 24-27 inches tall and 80, 100+ pounds, thriving in active homes with secure fencing and clear leadership.
