About Coton de Tulear Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Coton de Tulear, originating in Madagascar, is a small companion breed in the Non Sporting Group once cherished as the Royal Dog of Madagascar and kept as a lapdog for nobility. Affectionate, bright, and playful, they bond deeply with their families, get along well with children and other pets, and thrive on daily walks and interactive play. Typically 9-11 inches tall and 8-15 pounds, they carry a distinctive cotton soft, medium to long coat that needs brushing several times a week to prevent mats, plus routine ear cleaning, dental care, and nail trims. Generally healthy, they do best as true companion dogs rarely left alone.
