About Clumber Spaniel Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Clumber Spaniel, developed in England at Clumber Park as a gundog for flushing and retrieving birds in heavy cover, is a Sporting Group breed known for its calm, affectionate, and dignified nature with a gentle, sometimes clownish charm. Heavily built and low to the ground, it has a large head and a dense, straight coat that is mostly white with lemon or orange markings; typical size is 17-20 inches tall and 55-85 pounds. A low energy companion, it enjoys daily walks and scent focused activities, does best in cool weather, and responds well to patient, positive training. Grooming is moderate to high with regular brushing to manage year round shedding, routine ear cleaning, occasional trimming, and drool management; it is not hypoallergenic. Common health concerns include hip and elbow problems, back issues, eyelid problems, ear infections, weight gain, and thyroid issues.
