About Cirneco dell’Etna Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Cirneco dell’Etna is a small to medium Italian sighthound from Sicily, bred to hunt rabbits across Mount Etna’s rocky slopes; now in the Hound Group, it’s an alert, affectionate, and polite companion with an independent streak. Lean and athletic with large upright ears and a short, fine tan to chestnut coat, adults average 16.5, 19.5 inches tall and 18-27 pounds. Energy needs are moderate: daily walks plus opportunities to sprint or try coursing games, with a secure leash or yard due to prey drive. Grooming is easy but shedding is high year round (often heavier seasonally), drooling is minimal, and the breed is not hypoallergenic. Generally robust, they may face knee or hip issues, dental buildup without routine care, and possible sensitivity to some anesthetics.
