About Cesky Terrier Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Cesky Terrier, developed in Czechoslovakia in the 1940s by breeder Frantisek Horak, was created by crossing Sealyham and Scottish Terriers to produce a calmer, more trainable hunting terrier for forest work on boar and fox. A member of the AKC Terrier Group, Ceskies stand 10-13 inches tall and weigh 14-24 pounds, sporting a distinctive silky, slightly wavy coat in shades of gray blue or light coffee that requires clipping every 6-8 weeks plus weekly brushing. Clever, adventurous, and notably calmer than most terriers, they enjoy moderate daily exercise and adapt well to family life with children and other pets when socialized early.
