About Bracco Italiano Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Bracco Italiano, originating in Italy, is a large pointing breed in the AKC Sporting Group developed centuries ago to locate and retrieve game birds with a distinctive, methodical trot. Standing 21-27 inches tall and weighing 55-90 pounds, they are powerfully built yet elegant, with a noble chiseled head, long pendulous ears, and a short, dense, glossy coat in white, orange and white, or chestnut roan. Grooming is low: weekly brushing, routine ear cleaning to prevent infection, regular nail trims, and consistent dental care. Gentle, loyal, and people oriented, they thrive with families who can provide vigorous daily exercise and close companionship. Health concerns include hip and elbow dysplasia, bloat (GDV), entropion, ectropion, and hypothyroidism.

About these recommendations. PuppyReports surfaces the basic health screening recommendations for each breed in accordance with the principles established by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) program.
