About Bolognese Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The Bolognese, originating in northern Italy and named for the city of Bologna, is a small companion breed in the AKC Foundation Stock Service and a member of the Bichon family, historically treasured by Italian nobility and gifted among Renaissance courts. Devoted, calm, and quietly playful, they bond intensely with their people and do well in families, with seniors, and alongside other pets. Typically 10-12 inches tall and 8-14 pounds, they wear a distinctive pure white, flocked single coat that requires brushing several times a week and regular bathing to prevent mats, plus routine ear, dental, and nail care. Modest daily walks and indoor play satisfy their exercise needs.

  4. Can I visit, meet the parents, and see where the puppies are raised?
  5. Do you provide a written health guarantee and vaccination records?

About these recommendations. PuppyReports surfaces the basic health screening recommendations for each breed in accordance with the principles established by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) program. The OFA, working with each breed’s primary US parent club, sets the recommended testing list per breed. Recommendations may vary by country and region (US OFA CHIC, European FCI, UK Kennel Club, Australian National Kennel Council, etc.).
