About Bernedoodle Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts
The Bernedoodle, a cross between the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle, is a medium to extra large companion not recognized by the AKC but registered through designer organizations such as the ACHC and IDCR. Depending on Poodle parent size, adults range from 18 to 29 inches and 25 to 90 plus pounds. F1, F1B, and multigen litters produce wavy to curly coats in black, black and white, tricolor, or sable, with lower shedding curls more common in F1B crosses. Expect the Bernese's mellow, affectionate loyalty paired with the Poodle's quick wit and playful goofiness. Health concerns are inherited from both parents (see health panel). Best suited to families with yard space and time for weekly brushing, daily exercise, and steady companionship.
Parent Breeds
This is a designer cross combining: Bernese Mountain Dog + Poodle. As a mixed breed cross, individual puppies may inherit traits from either parent breed in varying degrees. Health testing requirements and temperament expectations should be evaluated for both parent breeds.
