The Aussiedoodle, a cross between the Australian Shepherd and the Poodle, is a medium to large companion recognized by designer registries such as the ACHC and IDCR rather than the AKC. Adults typically stand 14-23 inches and weigh 25-70 pounds depending on whether a Standard or Miniature Poodle was used. Coat varies by generation: F1s are often wavy and low shedding, while F1B and multigen litters trend curlier and more allergy friendly. Expect the Aussie's drive, herding instinct, and eagerness to work paired with the Poodle's sharp problem solving and biddability, producing a dog that learns fast but needs a job. Health concerns track both parents (see health panel). Best suited to active households that can deliver daily exercise, mental puzzles, and consistent training.
