About American Eskimo Dog Puppies, Breeders & DogFacts

The American Eskimo Dog, developed in the United States from German Spitz ancestors, is a Non Sporting breed that once performed as a popular circus and farm companion prized for its agility and trainability. Available in Toy (9-12 inches, 6-10 pounds), Miniature (12-15 inches, 10-20 pounds), and Standard (15-19 inches, 25-35 pounds), Eskies wear a striking white double coat with a plumed tail that needs brushing two to three times weekly and more during heavy seasonal shedding. Alert, affectionate, and highly intelligent, they thrive on daily exercise, mental challenges, and close family involvement.
